It is a broader term than "art", which as a description of a field usually means only the visual arts (comprising fine art, decorative art, architecture and crafts). Art is a stimulation of feelings, expressions,ideas,lust which is used as a tool to provoke, inspire, satisfy and create those feelings, expressions, and ideas in an audience. The arts encompasses visual arts, literature, the performing arts, including music, drama, film, dance, related media, and by some definitions, other areas such as fashion. For eg, how many push-ups, sit-ups, bench-press, jogging time should they be able to do before beginning martial arts OR while practicing martial arts? I have done Tae kwon do, Muay Thai, Brazilian jiu jitsu. and Wrestling what you should do is depending on the martial arts. but you should work on conditioning most. What i do is monday and tuesday, work outs. curls, push ups. military presses, sit ups, pull ups. and ab work outs. On wednesday i do straight conditioning. always stretch before. Thursday and friday, i work on my leg muscles. squatting and stretching and leg pressing. But if you are a begenniner, i suggest you take one day breaks. and remember, muscle and cardio builds while you are sleeping. so get a lot of rest! Good luck! Also, something like tae-kwon-doe is startable at any age, just find a martial arts center near you and sign up for classes. They have beginner classes for all age levels, so you can be in a group with people your age. Most colleges in the US offer liberal arts degrees (That is a Bachelor of Arts) A in one of the liberal arts - history, languages, literature, the arts etc.) and a BS (Bachelor of Science) if you major in one of the sciences. Some award only BAs no matter what you major in. So I'm not sure what you mean by a "regular" college. You can (or at least you used to be able to) do a "liberal arts" degree at MIT! There are colleges that are stronger in certain areas of the humanities or sciences. I would think that the reputation of the college in your field would matter most.
